If I book a consultation, how will the process work?
Call or email Sweet Dreams with the package you are interested in. Feel free to ask as many questions as you need to work out which package would be right for your situation. Any initial correspondence or questions you have, you will not be charged for.
Once you have selected the package you would like, Sweet Dreams will send you an invoice for payment and contact you to schedule your consultation.
If you select the Personalised Sleep Plan with Full Support
option, we will email you your personalised sleep plan within 24-48 hours of our consultation. We will then continue to work with you, to support and guide you through the process for up to two weeks.
Why should I pay for a sleep consultant?
With so much information out there on helping your baby or child sleep, chances are you are confused and you don’t know where to start. You are sleep deprived and simply want someone to steer you in the right direction and support you through the process. Emma will be that person to provide clarity, to take the guesswork out of it, and to support and guide you in helping you all get the sleep you need. Sleep is vital for our children in terms of their development, mood, behaviour and personality. So think of this process as a great investment in developing healthy sleep habits for your child and ones that will last a lifetime.
What makes Emma different from other sleep consultants?
There are a number of sleep consultants out there, but not all of them are certified through an accredited program. Emma has completed extensive training through the Family Sleep Institute in New York under world-renowned sleep expert Deborah Pedrick. Not only does Emma have the technical knowledge, but she also has the practical knowledge from raising her own child and from successfully helping numerous families. She prides herself on the valuable follow-up support she provides her clients and will go above and beyond offering support. She will be with you every step of the way to ensure you are not left wondering what to do next.
What hours do you work and can you do consults in the evenings?
Absolutely. We understand that evenings can be the best time for some parents, so we are flexible. Generally, Emma will be available between the hours of 8am-8pm Monday to Saturday.
Can you help people outside of Auckland and internationally?
Definitely. The power of the Internet makes it possible for Sweet Dreams to do email, phone or Skype consultations to help you anywhere in New Zealand or even internationally. We will pay for any international calls. With international payment, this is easily done through PayPal and you will always be provided information on transactions that include a currency conversion before you complete your transaction.
Why can’t I book the full support option for my baby who is younger than 4 months?
With our Personalised Sleep Plan and Full Support
package options, there are usually some elements of formal sleep training involved. However, we don’t recommend sleep training a baby who is younger than 4 months of age. This is because their biological clocks (or internal body clocks) and nervous system haven’t fully matured and they are not usually capable of sleeping through the night until between 4 and 6 months of age. We can still offer loads of sleep advice and tips with our Expecting and Newborn Package
where we can subtly help to ‘sleep shape’ and set the foundations for your baby and it may even eliminate the need for formal sleep training in the future.
Do you provide a guarantee?
To guarantee success for your child, it requires 100% commitment from you as the parents/caregivers. We will provide you with the advice, the sleep plan and the support you need, however you have to do the hard work of following through with that plan. So whilst we don’t provide a money back guarantee for this reason, we can guarantee you that if you are 100% consistent and follow through with the plan, then you will see the great results and have your child sleeping like a dream in no time. That is our promise.
